About Rochioli Vineyards
Rochioli Vineyards Facts
The range of the Pinot Noirs from the Rochioli family goes from rich to richer. These aromatic wines from their superb vineyards in the heart of the Russian River Valley are classic expressions of the region, with dominant red fruit and spice character.
Varietals Produced at Rochioli Vineyards
The Rochioli's have owned this land, a 162 acre estate, 128 of which are planted to Pinot, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, since Tom Rochioli's grandfather purchased it in 1938. The first Pinot Noir crop was harvested in 1971, but it wasn't until the completion of the current winery in 1985, that production really increased -- the facility can produce up to 10,000 cases per vintage. In recent years, a growing percentage of Rochioli's fruit has gone into pricier vineyard-designated bottlings sold mostly via mailing list. Tom Rochioli also offers a delightfully brisk and gripping Sauvignon Blanc with penetrating citrus skin and dusty stone character.
