It is not what it used to be !!!!

I have tried 96,97,99.... It was very impressive wine. However from the year 2000 it has been MAJOR I mean Major disappointment. Especially 2002,2003... Shame on you Opus one. I want my money back.. It should be at $35-50 range... IT IS SHAME...

Napa Valley 2002

2002 began with a very dry winter followed by a moderate spring with some rains in May. Conditions were even and mild throughout the summer with the exception of a few heat spikes in September that gave the grapes an extra push as harvest approached. The resulting wines have juicy, fresh acidities and brightness to match their deep dark-fruit cores. Overall an excellent vintage of supple, balanced, concentrated, high-quality wines that have the polish and ripeness to age well.

Key Dates

Slight frost damage

Slight rain

Moderate temperatures

High daytime temperatures and dry north winds. Cabernet harvest begins
