I am a very experinced Burgundy consumer and have tasted over the years some big ones from the top brands (DRC, Leroy, Duga-Py etc...) and plots. The Chamirey 2005 a real treasure for money. Classic Burgundy color, interesting nose with "animalistic" hints and a slightly sweet (for a Burgundy) medium body palate with nice red (but ripe) fruit consentration and some sweet spice (Cinnamon, Nutmeg??). Highly recomended.
This wine was described to me as having cherry & cranberry fruits with hints of cinnamon and spice. Thought it might go well with Thanksgiving dinner. While the wine did not shine it also did not disappoint. While I did get the fruit - although a touch grapey - the cinnamon and spice were not as pronounced as I had hoped. Still a good wine.
