Fruity

I found this wine to have a lovely lemon curd taste - slightly sweet, but not cloying, as some sweet wines can be. It would be great with fruits or light cheeses. I want to open the other three bottles, but am also interested in saving it to see how it ages.

Fantastic Wine

I have tasted several 2007 Rieslings now, and while it is obvious that this is going to be a superb vintage, some of these wines will not be ready for at least a decade. The Ratzenberger is one of the few that is drinking beautifully now and has that potential to age. None of the excessive sulfur either.

Lovely Riesling

Faultless; great balance of acid and phenolic structure with kiss of sweetness.

2007 Ratzenberger Bacharacher Riesling Spat HlbT

Excellent wine with turkey dinner and all the fixings.

No turkey

I opened a bottle to go with Thanksgiving dinner. The wine had less sweetness than I'm used to with the German "Pradikat" wines (even Kabinett), but that was by no means a drawback. It developed new notes as it warmed during the meal (we didn't keep it in an ice bucket), and was good from start to finish - in fact, I think I liked it even better as it warmed.

Mistaken for a 2003

I brought a bottle of this along to a "boys weekend" recently, not knowing the expertise and preference of most of the others. It turned out that two other guests were big fans of Riesling who had traveled extensively in Germany and knew a lot more about Riesling than I did. They both mistook this for a 2003. That says it all, this wine is a real find and a joy to taste.

Very Enjoyable

Very enjoyable, well balance and not too fuity

a little sweet?

This Riesling has some nice harmonies, but inital impression is of somewhat overwhelming sweetness. Will be interesting to retry in a few years

new to Reisling

I'm just becoming familiar with Reisling, the WineAccess review sounded like this would be a good one to try. I enjoyed the tangy fruit, and thought it was nicely crisp, with a minerality that made it interesting. But I thought it was a little sweet for my taste. My father-in-law, who is a BIG reisling fan, enjoyed it a lot.
