This is not a sweet chardonnay, difficult to find at present, exactly what I like. Wish I'd ordered a case of it!
Excellent bottle of chardonnay. Crisp with good fruit and not overly "oaky."
I have been drinking these wines for years and this is hands down the best version that the winery has ever released. Everytime I open a bottle (should have bought more than 6), I seriously high five everyone around me it is so good.
I just opened this last weekend, in short it was amazing. The aromatics were good but nothing special but don't let that fool you. Rich sweet golden apple and pear with a lingering fleshy mid palate and a crisp finish for a 2007. It probably only has a couple of years left but it's drinking so well I won't wait.
Tantalizing aroma, moderately rich but complex with herb, mineral and minimal oak. Delicious, ones of the best slow sippers Ive ever had. Not huge mouth feel, would be perfect outside on warm afternoon or early evening. Not sure what food would go with it.
Curiosity got the better of me and I finally popped open one of these gems. Lean, clean and austere while I was preparing dinner, but it opened up as I went along. With food, this wine is a completely different animal - a perfect match to the king crab, lemon rice with diced/sauteed fennel and mushrooms, steamed broccoli and Acme bread simply adorned with butter. Light to medium weight, the wine never felt full in the mouth, but it had a presence that made itself known and complemented the meal. More understated and French in style than a typical California chardonnay; this suits me fine. Minerally indeed, but a pure expression of the fruit without being overwhelmed by oak. Can't wait for next bottle - just wish I had bought more!
This is probably a very good wine. Unfortunately, the weather changed and the UPS truck that delivered it was probably not climate-controlled. The bottles were very warm. Opened one bottle: it was good, but I'm wondering if it was harmed by the excessive temperature. The other bottles are in a climate-controlled cabinet, and I'll see if they were harmed as well. If we didn't have the heat issue, this is (and the other bottles may prove to be) a very nice Chard.
Clean, chardonnay with citris mouth; not too much oak.
I thought it was light, without much fruit but pleasant. The friends I shared it with, however, loved it.
We found it to be very dry and really tightly structured. The flavors are all there, but so woven together we could hardly distinguish them. A bit tannic on the finish. We plan to age at least a year before having another.
A favorite, even better than the Landmark. Full bodied in the best sense, full of fruit, very satisfying. 4+ stars
Good wine and good value. The only negative is it is a little one dimensional.
Undersated US Chards as complex as this one deserving of a decanter, and drink just above room temp.
This wine is missing something
What I expected to be a nuance of sophisticated minerals turned out to be a not so pleasant metallic aftertaste. Not quite sure how else to describe it, but not my favorite Chard!
very disappointed,no big deal
