Very nice Zin.. with a full bodied flavor and a very nice smooth finish. A very enjoyable wine.
Very good price point value.
This is a very powerful, tannic, darkly colored and flavored zin. Not entirely my style, but impressive. Would be good with a rustic meal now, but I will wait 2 more years before opening another bottle (storing at 55 degrees) Hoping it will mellow and smooth out some.
Each and every time I open another bottle of the 08 Evangelho Zin I am ever more impressed. This is a lush wine with very ripe fruit and a substantially tannic back bone. The dark fruit jam, wonderful acidity and firm tannins make this wine a fabulous bargain. Better than or equal to many of the expensive boutique zinfandels of the Dry Creek, and Napa Valleys. I am becoming a raving lunatic regarding Three Wine Company Contra Costa County wines.
I love old vine zins...If you like classic old vine Zin's this is one. The myth is that Zin's don't age well... the truth is that they do - just very few hang around long enough for folks to know. This is one of those Zins. You can drink now - appreciate the flavors and really enjoy with a great rustic meal or you can hold and let those great flavors blend and mature. Your choice. Your patience. What you find now is spice and hints of cedar weaving in and out of the dark fruits. Fortunately, I bought a case so cracking a couple now was a great way to know what the future holds.
Very good Zin for the price pt. Would certainly reorder.
Well balanced and not too fruity, relatively high alcohol does not overpower.
Young, should be better with time
Very big black-blueberry profile but unusuallly balanced. It is almost opaque.
