Outstanding Value

Excellent CA Chadonay with burgandy like characterisics. For the price I have not found any better!

cheryl's wedding pre-dinner

very big compliments on the wine. lighter taste than most chardonney. great for before dinner.

This wine had wonderful acidity and crispness. Definitely more French style than the American style to which I am accustomed and which I do not like.

Right mood, right time.

Required little effort to enjoy this wine's offering

Delicious Chardonnay

Big aroma of vanilla & tropical fruit, Full bodied flavors of apple, tropical fruit and oak fills the mouth, very long finish, good balance but I prefer a bit less oak. Went great with polenta and Cajun grilled chicken. This was my first bottle.

This was not quite as dry as we'd like.

Decent Chardonnay

I am a fan of Melville but this Chardonnay isn't quite up to the 4 or 5 stars I usually give to their Pinot bottlings. Not a bad wine but no wow factor.

Even Worse

First review 12/09/2011. Received an email from WA. Please wait and give the wine time in the bottle. Okay - weeks later, after taking a bottle to visit friends in Napa who would not drink it, I tried another bottle. Not any better and now feel this wine warrants a one star rating because there is nothing lower. This is poor Chard - as stated before an over rated commercial wine produced for the retail market - did not move so on to WA. Now I buy a fair amount of wine from WA. This is the only negative review I have ever submitted and see others feel the same way. Now the 22 bottles remaining sit in the cellar taking up space. I think I wil save them for summer picnics when everyone has a little too much and really dosen't care. Now that would be the time to serve this stuff. Recently other Melville wines, I think red, showed on WA - I thought no way - not going there again.

Can I rate less than 1 star?

Definitely not my cup of tea. Very sour. Perhaps there was something wrong with my bottle since there appeared to be sediment all over the bottom of the cork. Nothing to like about this at all in my opinion.
