I've bought 3 different years of the 3 Wine Zin and this is the best one yet.
I absolutely love this wine! I drink California Zinfandels more than any other variety and have sampled numerous vineyards' Zins; this wine has more taste for the buck than any I have tasted. Please offer this wine again.
What a pleasant surprise from a vineyard I was unfamiliar with. VERY enjoyable !
This is one of the best zins I have had in a long time, even compared to much more expensive wines.
I'm giving this big, bold Zin five stars becuase there is no 4.5 star rating. But that aside, for my taste, this is one dynamite Zin. Full bodied, exploding with mountain berry aromas, great finish. Its dark purple in the glass and thick. This is one the best values I have experienced in any bottle of wine. Three has it going on!
A smooth and most mellow Zin, great for sipping , paired with simple food, the flavor almost exploded. My hunch a couple of more years and this Zin will be truly great.
Great (on a 10 degree night in New Hampshire) w/ lamb and chocolate @ a dinner party that started w/ white and pinot noir and ended w/ guests asking to take a bottle home. Not for the timid--high alcohol and some residual sugar--like a Ridge Geyserville hopped up--should have bought more
My wife likes Zinfandel so I purchased this for her but I also really l enjoyed this one. We are not wine aficionados but we know what we like and we really like this one. How can I get more?
Though the alcohol is high, Zinfandel is the only grape which can benefit from it when done right. This one is. Juicy and mouthfilling with no edges.
We're big Zin drinkers and this one was opened for "one glass" on a Friday night and was very quickly finished, changing plans for the evening. Full bodied & well balanced, an excellent zin that stands with the giants of the varatiel
Very drinkable now. Will probably get even better over the next year. Let it breathe ~1 hour and you will love this rich, full-bodied, yet not overwhelming Zin. Lingering flavor leaves you wanting more...
Great wine, great price, want more!
My wife and I love Zinfandel, and the description of this wine led me to greatly anticipate opening the bottle. Upon opening, the nose was minimal and the wine was very dark and dry (almost dusty). I used a Vinturi and the wine softened a little and began to release a dark fruit and leathery aroma. I used a bottle stopper and tried again in 24 hours. The next day was much better - blackberry aroma, chocolate and brambly in the mouth but still a touch of dust on the edges of my tongue. Day 3 was less aroma, but almost the best flavors of all the tasting. Give it some time in an aerator and decanter, and imagine what a French Zinfandel might taste like....
Nice Zin. Cline always produces approachable wines. This wine seems to be somewhat the middle of the road for an old vine Zin from the Contra Costa area. I was expecting a bigger and more bold presence. The wine however is worth the price.
It's a little sweeter than the description indicated.
One could easily be fooled into mistaking this zin for a dense pinot. Medium bodied with an ever so slight grip of tannins, There is a bit of a funky edge, slightly spicy, slightly medicinal, but not entirely unlikeable. I have a feel that this wine could be quite good given the proper food combo - I just need to discover what that might be.
