great with salmon
Butterscotch on the early nose then becomes more steady. Not fruit forward. Has nice balance and never hot.Just an enjoyable wine most likely good with food.
2nd bottle same as the first. No nose to speak of - definitely not raspberry cherry and licorice and NOT brilliant ruby to the rim as WA claims. Thin, watery, one dimensional and that dimension is sour. No richness, no cola, no raspberry or black cherry preserves and definitely no Russian River opulence or Burgundian persistence. Of the 15 Wine Access wines I have purchased, 3 live up to the hype with a 4 or higher rating, 4 are over rated with a 3 or lower rating and 8 have yet to be tasted. Factor in the shipping costs and WA is not batting well.
