I love champagne since my first tasting , 20 years ago. But this vintage and especially Bollinger is one of the best. Powerful, charming, glamourous, wonderful !!
Golden straw, steady stream of medium bubbles. Ripe and mature aromas of macerated red fruits and toffee. Quite rich, yet, elegantly balanced and showing surprising verve in the mouth. Long pinot noir-like (berries and earth) finsh. Wonderful style for food.
As a novice wine drinker, I find most sparkling to be either too "tart" or flavorless. This one's a winner - good "body," flavour, fine finish
I had forgotten to pu this on my profile when it was reccomended to me in a matchback. They love this in England. I think it is just a touch more....maybe slate-y is the right word, than the Veuve Cliquot. I like it very much, but I'm sticking with Pommery Brut Royal, Roderer, and Veuve Cliquot for the time being.
Nothing to scoff at here.
Fills the mouth with strong, assertive flavors that are a bit too abrasive for me.
