Long luxurious finish

I found this wine tucked away on a wine list at a bed and breakfast in Western Pennsylvania. The restaurant price: $60.00!!! My husband and I had to try it since we regretted that we never got our hands on the '96 Cinq Cepages. This places in our Top 5 favorites. It filled our mouths with luscious dark flavors and lingered there for oh-so-long. A truly memorable wine.

I've been saving this bottle for 4 years since I enjoyed the 98 version at dinner many years ago. As I remembered from my last experience, it was even better. True with age, you need to let it breathe for a good 45 mins, but once it has, what an aroma! Excellent nose, smooth and lasting finish to the very end. Well, well worth the wait. If you have the opportunity, please enjoy.

smooth and lasting finish

excellent texture and long smooth finish. a little pricy but is well worth it.

better younger than older

I had this wine back in '03 and seemed more interesting. (more finish, sexy middle.) Two years later; not soo sexy. Word up Parker!

good, but....

This was a very interesting wine. I paid $52 and I'm not certain it was worth it. I've seen people asking as much as $150 for it, which it deffinitely does not warrant. It does nothing wrong -- it has good juice, structure, complexity, personality. It is particularly good when it comes to its anice/tar/eucalypace attributes. But as much as I have no gripes about the wine, nothing stands out as amazing either. For my money, Hendry Block 8, Chapallet Signature, Flora Springs Trilogy, and even BV Tapestry -- all for less money are better wines.
