If you can find a bottle not "plonk", it is THE Best wine I hav EVER had...and that includes the 1982 Chateau Margaux as well, which was absolutely wonderful. I bought 2 bottles of this vintage off the INet and both were "plonk" when I opened them. After my clinical depression *grin* (and my refund) and much lamenting to friends/family, I was lucky enough to find another bottle as a private purchase from a local store that was closing. I didn't wait...this time I popped it right away, and it was Glorious! I did not even decant it just let it 'breathe' for maybe 20 minutes...then poured...it was almost an astral experience for me. Normally, I will open a bottle and drink a glass, pouring maybe one for hubby as well..but this went down so fast...much of it *gone* before the second round of steaks were done...(first we had beef porterhouses, then I was making some lamb chops as well). I couldn't keep my lips off it. I feel so very lucky to hav had some of the wines I hav drunk, but this one truly, without a doubt, with no question what-so-ever, tops them ALL. (To date, that is).
