Perfectly Cellared Cabernet Sauvignon

Perfectly Cellared Cabernet Sauvignon

Ready to know what all the fuss is about with cellared California Cabernet? Today is your chance to discover this grape’s stunning ability to age, without the standard markup or decade-plus of discipline cellaring normally requires.

This  2004 Hidden Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon is a crimson marvel, which has traded young tannins and over the top fruit flavors for spice, nuance, and elegance over fifteen years in the cool, quiet cellars of the Hidden Ridge estate. Because of our direct connections to Hidden Ridge—and it's status as a Wine Access favorite and a consistent sellout—we’re able to offer the last few cases of perfectly cellared beauty at the standard release price. No mark-ups here, just a mouthwatering chance to taste the evolution of a beautiful Cabernet, without the wait.

Hidden Ridge is set amidst Mayacamas Mountain terrain so remote and rugged, their 48 planted acres of Cabernet Sauvignon can only be accessed via four-wheel-drive trucks and helicopters. Terroir this outstanding produces wine that’s just as awe-inspiring, as Robert Parker was quick to point out, calling it “a modern-day classic.”

From 100-point winemaker Tim Milos, the 2004 Hidden Ridge proves Cabernet’s reputation for aging gracefully is well-deserved. Complex aromas of leather, tobacco, and spice mingle with black currant, Mission fig, and cassis before undertones of earth and cocoa segue to the velvety, supple finish. Wine Spectator rated the 2004 vintage “outstanding,” and just marked the Cabernets from the year as ready to drink, calling the wines “ripe, elegant, concentrated and harmonious.”

We can’t say it loud enough: Wine Access loyalists adore Hidden Ridge, and today’s release offers more of the decadent fruit and perfectly integrated tannins that have made this wine a favorite. Whether you open this alongside a new release Cabernet for comparison, or orchestrate a dinner party for this fabulously aged red, it’s sure to dazzle from the moment the cork is popped.
