Tasted initially a few weeks after arrival in 2013, I was unimpressed, even after decanting and waiting a few hours. Two years later this Brunello has really opened up to become a recent favorite. Full Sangiovese taste profile with plenty of tannin to last a few more years. Not at all heavy or cloying,
a wine you can sip all evening without it becoming tiresome. Glad I have 4 bottles remaining.

May 5, 2013
I have been drinking Brunello de Montalcino wines from various producers since the 1982 vintage so I have
a pretty good idea of what to expect in a bottle. The 2007 Argiano is a very nice Brunello. I had a bottle in
May of 2013. This is too soon to drink it but I couldn't wait. If you intend to drink the 2007 Argiano young
it is best to decant the bottle or just open it 2-3 hours before you intend to drink it. I found the wine gained nuances after breathing for 3+ hours. It picked up a slight smokiness that was appealing. The only
other Brunello in my cellar from the 2007 vintage is Tenuto Caparzo. The Caparzo is in the same price
range as the Argiano. I find the Argiano to be slightly superior to the Caparzo in complexity. I am very
pleased with the Argiano and I look forward to drinking it over the next 5-10 years. If you want a better
Brunello than this you probably have to spend another $30-50 for a Riserva.
