The most famous winery in the world, Château Lafite Rothschild, is a real First among First Growths. “I consider it to be the most elegant and delicate” of the Premier Crus, wrote Guillaume Lawton (a member of the 1855 classification panel) in 1815, an assessment that has echoed through the centuries. If Latour is known for its brooding power, and Mouton Rothschild for its flamboyant opulence, Lafite has always been the First Growth of aristocratic pedigree and balletic grace, capable of over 60 years of cellaring.

The historic estate’s 2008 is “a candidate for the ‘wine of the vintage’” wrote Robert Parker.  The bottle is engraved with the Chinese character for “8” commemorating the planting of the Penglai vineyards in China. The value placed on this wine continues to soar, and year after year the wine becomes more difficult to acquire! It could easily be the prized wine of any collection. And inside the bottle—- the wine is as classic and refined as expected! Decanter Magazine describes the wine as possessing “savoury character of Cabernet Sauvignon from classical years where terroir speaks so strongly.” Since bottling it has never once been moved, guaranteeing our clients perfect condition and provenance.
