One hour decant: This is full of black cherry, blackberry and cassis, both on the nose and the palate. Very balanced with a smooth finish. After more time, the tannins do make an appearance. They are not intrusive, just a little dusty, and after 2.5 hours they seem resolved with the fruit. This is eminently drinkable now and will be even better in a year or two. Truly outstanding value.
4/19/16: Had one of these with grilled salmon seasoned with Montreal. Pop and pour, and absolutely delicious! This will disappear pretty quickly now; wish I had bought a case!
2/9/17: A little more tannic than the 2012, but just beautiful. Big wine! Excellent, too.

As with the 2007 (one of my go to ‘drinking’ – rather than sipping- Cabs) give this one two or three years in the cellar- by then it may well surpass the 07 judging from its relative (youthful) smoothness. I say drinking Cab because these are less about complexity of flavor than texture and balance. Rich yet utterly quaffable, I wouldn’t usually call a Cab thirst quenching, but am tempted to do so here.
