The Knight and the Shepherdess
The Knight and the Shepherdess
Clerc Milon’s second wine, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon Petit Pauillac, debuted in the 2009 vintage. The name pastourelle refers to a traditional dance that evokes a knight’s encounter with a shepherdess, and is an homage to the instantly recognizable label on Clerc Milon’s Grand Vin.
Composed of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and a dash of Carmenère, the 2010 Pastourelle is deep garnet red, with tons of black fruit, chocolate, and dried flowers. Beautifully structured but meant for earlier drinking than Clerc Milon’s Grand Vin, Pastourelle is an accessible addition to an estate already recognized for producing fantastic values.
