The 2012 season was a hot one, but unlike 2011, which saw a late heat spike, 2012 started warm—and that was crucial because it gave the vines time to adapt. They responded by putting out small, concentrated berries that, despite their power, made for very elegant wines. 

Wine Enthusiast Italian lead Kerin O’Keefe raved that “the 2012s even have more consistent quality across the denomination than the highly acclaimed 2010s.” The Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino awarded the 2012 vintage five out of five stars, and Wine Spectator rated it 96 points.
