He lavishes the same care and attention on this 2014 Lola Kay Proprietary Red Wine as he does the 2013 Hidden Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Impassable Mountain Reserve that won 100 points from Robert Parker. Tim and his team tasted over 500 lots of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, narrowing the field to “three to four beautiful lots that work nicely together.” The Cabernet Franc comes from a cool-climate site in Edna Valley, while the other lots come from Sonoma and Napa “estates of note.” As Tim put it, “We should really call this wine NDA, given all the Non-Disclosure Agreements we have to sign every year to source this wine.”
