“One of the wines of the vintage” is not a label that gets thrown around lightly in Bordeaux. Not least in a year like 2015, which is already considered a classic, on par with historic vintages 2005 and 2010. In 2015, the debate for the year’s best wine is a debate to become legendary. Sitting in that rarefied air is Château Canon’s 2015 Grand Vin. Three 100-point scores from Neal Martin (RobertParker.com), Vinous and James Suckling, only hint at the wine’s greatness.  Antonio Galloni in Vinous writes “From the very beginning, the 2015 Canon has made an eloquent case for itself as one of the wines of the vintage. Multiple tastings from bottle only confirm what several early tastings hinted at: the 2015 Canon is simply extraordinary in every way.”  This is a wine for the ages, delivered in perfect provenance, straight from the château. Our advice: Buy two bottles, one for you, and one for future generations.

Reaching the 100-point zenith in 2015 was a first for Canon, but the journey was no overnight success. Since the Wertheimer family — owners of the Chanel group — purchased the estate in 1996, no expense has been spared to raise the estate to its true potential. The 2015, as Neal Martin put it, “was a benchmark that seemed to revitalize this historic estate.”

Credit is especially due to general manager Nicolas Audebert, who harnessed the supreme opulence and power of the 2015 vintage while keenly maintaining vibrancy, freshness, and lift.

The harmony that Suckling could hardly believe was echoed by Antonio Galloni, who wrote, “sumptuous and exotic, with no hard edges and exceptional balance,” adding, “From the very beginning, the 2015 Canon has made an eloquent case for itself as one of the wines of the vintage.”

If you can’t make it to the 18th century limestone tunnels 100 feet below the château to sip the historic 2015, we suggest delivery straight to your door — direct from the château in perfect condition, provenance guaranteed. Secure your share now.
