Château Trois Moulins shares the same terroir as next door neighbor Third-Growth Château Giscours and is made at Cambon de la Polousse under the auspices of Hubert de Boüard of Château Angélus. The spectacular conditions of 2015 that led the Grands Crus on this hill to 95- and 97-point scores elevated Trois Moulins to the status of one of the best Bordeaux buys we’ve seen. Just $19.99 per bottle — recommended case buy.

Like the historic years of 2005, 2009, and 2010, it’s hard to overstate the excellence of Bordeaux’s 2015 vintage. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate captured exactly how such vintages elevate not just the big names, but the whole region: “Tasting the 2015 vintage from barrel has unveiled a clutch of wines so sublime that they are certain to become landmarks for their respective châteaux...not necessarily from the most obvious names.”

Long time Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate reviewer Jeb Dunnuck concurs saying, “The vintage is loaded with terrific quality at the top of the pyramid and at the well-known estates, yet also has an incredible number of outstanding wines at just about every price point.” He continues, “In short, 2015 produced a bevy of ripe, sexy, opulent wines that share similarities to the 2009s with their sumptuous, already accessible personalities." In other words, everybody knows the Grands Crus are going to be great — and priced accordingly. It is in these “less obvious” labels that we find the deals that we want to stack by the case.

That’s the story of Château Trois Moulins. The estate is not only a stone’s throw from two Grand Cru estates of Third-Growth Château Giscours and Fifth-Growth Château Cantemerle, but is touched by the expertise of Hubert de Boüard of Château Angélus. De Boüard presided of Angélus’s rise to Saint-Émilion Grand Cru “Classé A” in 2012, and has been retained as the vineyard and cellar consultant by Trois Moulins since 2013, gilding Château Trois Moulins with a little more of Grand Cru nobility. There is no hotter buy right now than 2015 Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux.
