Two 100-Point Winemakers. One Must-Have Napa Wine.

The 2016 MR is an incredible deal in every sense of the word—an all-star bottling if there ever was one, featuring Cabernet from Napa’s unrivaled Stagecoach, To Kalon, Missouri Hopper, and Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyards.

Crafted by two multi-100-point-scoring winemakers and coming from the Valley’s “vintage of the century,” this 97-point Cabernet delivers classic Napa power and elegance for hundreds less than its similarly-scoring competition. We have it for Wine Access Cabernet devotees at 23% off. Three-bottle orders will ship with the original wooden case, making the MR a delicious and beautiful addition to any cellar.

Opening a bottle of Michel Rolland’s Napa Cabernet Sauvignon comes with a certain level of anticipation. After all, this is the winemaker who steered to greatness Bordeaux châteaux such as Angélus, Ausone, Pavie, and Pontet-Canet, as well as iconic Napa estates such as Bond, Bryant Family, Harlan, and Staglin. Together with 100-point winemaker Jean Hoefliger (who led Alpha Omega to stardom), the ‘16 is a worthy addition to the Napa Cabernet pantheon.

That comes as no surprise, given the heritage vineyard sources, which make this wine a staggering value compared to its peers. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, crème de cassis, fine dark chocolate, and espresso bean spill from the glass, supported by a lush, silken palate with the kind of million-dollar tannin structure that will see bottles last for a decade or more.

Upon release, the 2016 inspired a slew of critic raves, with Jeb Dunnuck praising the inky red as “a rich, powerful, full-bodied beauty,” before waxing poetic on its structure: “It's thrillingly textured, opulent and hedonistic.” James Suckling, in his 97-point review, got straight to the point: “Best wine ever from here.”
