Te Mania Soaring to New Heights
Te Mānia Soaring to New Heights
With 100 x 5-star ratings from Wine Access clients — you’d be hard-pressed to find a better mouthwatering, mineral white for $15.99. Jancis Robinson sums it up best: Te Mānia produces “wines with an impressive combination of early charm and evidence of future potential,” she wrote in Decanter. Te Mānia, one of New Zealand’s star Sauvignon Blanc producers, has soared to new heights with this 2016 vintage.
As you’re standing in Te Mānia’s vineyards, looking out over the Bay of Tasman, it’s as if you’re gazing upon a living remnant of the Garden of Eden — “Good as Gold,” as the locals say. In 2016, from this slice of paradise winemaker Steve Gill — who has worked in some impressive European cellars, most notably Burgundy’s Dujac — crafted one of New Zealand’s most luscious, mouthwatering and delicious Sauvignon blancs.
With Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc flying off the shelves in the United States, many retail and restaurant buyers don’t save space for lesser-known Kiwi regions or producers. New Zealand’s top Sauvignon Blancs (which give Sancerre a run for its money) rarely make it past Sydney, London, Tokyo, or Singapore, or even the North Island. We’re here to change that.
