A “Cash on the Barrelhead” Cab

Sometimes you’ll only slap cash on the barrelhead if you KNOW you’ll get a Napa Cabernet that delivers muscular strength, dark-fruit concentration, and silky smoothness—and that’s the 2017 Innisfree Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley.

Crafted by the legendary winery behind one of Napa Valley’s original and most iconic Bordeaux-style blends—and drawn from the same coveted estates—Innisfree comes from younger vines and barrels that don’t necessarily fit the flagship’s profile, but still add up to an off-the-charts value.

Our relationship with the iconic parent estate of Innisfree dates back to our earliest days as a fledgling internet start-up, when diving into the digital realm was just about the furthest thing from the wine world’s mind. Nevertheless, the founder took a chance on us with about 600 bottles of their most iconic wine.

We sold every one in record time, and that was the beginning of a 16-year relationship—one that put us in the front of the line for Innisfree.

Crafted under the guidance of a winemaker alum of Bordeaux’s Château Angélus, Innisfree is only made in bountiful vintages, making it a rare find. Unlike some of the stiffer blue-chip Napa Cabs that require a few years of cellaring and extended decanting time to enjoy, Innisfree is approachable right now.

Plush concentration and sinuous tannins make this an instant winner for weeknight meals—not something we can usually say about a wine with such a legendary pedigree.
