2017 The Mascot Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750 ml

Just over a decade ago, Will Harlan scored a few barrels of Cabernet from the younger vines at his family’s incomparable estates. He blended a wine to share with his friends, packaging some of the most precious Cabernet in Napa Valley in nondescript bottles. 

Finally, in 2008, Will’s wine eked its way outside his inner circle. The Mascot was officially born, and it soon took its place as one of the greats. It is the only wine in the world that can claim to be made by the teams behind three of Napa Valley’s most legendary Cabernets—BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory—and that pedigree shows in every sip.

In 2017, all of the teams’ diligent farming practices and obsessive attention to detail in the cellar delivered yet another KNOCKOUT Mascot bottling—one we’re thrilled to have straight from the winery cellars. This is one of the most impeccably sourced and thoughtfully crafted wines in Napa Valley, and anyone with it in their cellar is extremely fortunate. 

A sip of Cabernet expressing any one of these sites can rightly be described as the wine experience of a lifetime, and The Mascot 2017 is a hedonistic masterpiece. Deep ruby-red in the glass, it fills the room with aromas of warm mulberry and blackberry preserves wrapped in tobacco and cocoa. Broad and complete on the palate, it has rich red and black fruit laced with graphite, riding on graceful tannins that resolve in a long, joyful finish. It’s a magical Cabernet that won us over from the start.
