2017 Timeless Proprietary Red Blend Napa Valley 750 ml

The Duncan family has a long history of high-quality winegrowing in the Napa Valley. They are after all one of the First Families of California wine. Matt Duncan’s grandfather, Raymond, co-founded Silver Oak with Justin Meyer in 1972, and his family assumed full control of the winery in 2001. Since then, the Duncans have run one of the country’s most successful wine brands as one of the most hands-on families in Napa.

Since then, they have expanded into the Alexander Valley, and crafted world-class wines under the Twomey name. It is exciting to see the beginning of a new wine, that although has a new name, this has been part of the Duncan story for decades. 

Timeless is an homage to the Duncan legacy of vintners. Coming from a winemaking family now in their third generation (with a fourth not far behind), it’s a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, all aged in new French Oak—a departure from the signature American oak used for Silver Oak. Timeless shows a luxurious texture and subtle notes of cacao and vanilla, which all enhance the ripe black fruit and wild herbs. 

The grapes are sourced from the family’s iconic Soda Canyon Ranch, the southeastern Napa site that has been an integral part of Silver Oak Napa Valley since 1999, and is the sole source for Twomey Merlot. Timeless is vinified under the direction of longtime winemaker Nate Weis, who uses distinct plots to craft a singular expression of the vineyard.
