    Two Burgundy Legends Head South

Domaine de Triennes is a perennial favorite of Wine Access members because it always delivers an incredible amount of rosé value, and today we bring it to you at our best price ever: just $16.99 per bottle, and down to $14.99 on cases.

This wine is the brainchild of the star Burgundy winemakers who run two of the region’s most storied domaines—Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac—and their mastery is apparent in every sip of the 2018 Triennes. It’s a pale rose color with silver streaks throughout, showing lifted aromas of cranberry, white strawberry, and blood orange. On the palate, there are suggestions of wet stones, chrysanthemum, and refreshing hibiscus tea. Showing great harmony and purity, it’ll keep you returning for sip after sip—and will be especially great at Thanksgiving and holiday parties. This is a stock-up kind of price.

In 1989, these heavyweight winemakers—along with their Parisian partner Michel Macaux—took their priceless experience, commitment to quality, and vision to the sunny southern village of Nans-les-Pins, which lies east of rosé epicenter Aix-en-Provence. At their chosen site (which sits at twice the elevation of Aix), the cooler climate creates an estate-bottled rosé with freshness, elegance, and lift, while the property’s gradual southern-exposed slopes—which are reminiscent of the great hills of Burgundy—allow for full phenolic ripeness. To top it off, clay-limestone soils endow the wines with a refreshing minerality.

The 2018 is a classic formula of Cinsault bolstered by Grenache, Syrah, and a touch of Merlot. After being harvested at night to preserve freshness, the grapes are allowed just a few hours of skin contact before being fermented as a low temperature, yielding a pale rose wine of beautiful elegance.

A wet spring thinned out some of the bounty of the 2018 vintage, and the fruit that made it to harvest was of excellent quality—there just wasn’t as much as everyone would have liked. That makes today’s offer, at our lowest price ever, even more special. Delight your guests with it this Thanksgiving and all through the fall, and stash a few for when the weather warms up!
