Franc Favorite Anniversary Vintage

Not long after moving to the United States in 1979, Sean Larkin was bitten by the proverbial wine bug. He worked his way from sommelier to wine broker; from New Jersey to Napa. His path led him from pulling corks to crafting wines his own wines. He began his eponymous winery in 1999, focusing on Cabernet Franc—a varietal he felt wasn’t getting its deserved attention in the United States as a standalone wine. 

He quickly gained recognition for his efforts, leading Parker to declare “This is another producer that consistently turns out fine wines and what would have to be considered reasonable pricing for high-end Napa offerings.”

Sean’s wines are a staple in Napa Valley’s restaurants—from the French Laundry, to Morimoto and beyond. Sourced primarily from a single-vineyard in Calistoga, where warm temperatures lead to perfect ripeness and immaculate concentration, this is a spicy California-style Cabernet Franc. The wine is bold and round, with flavors of crushed blackberries, cassis, chocolate, and rose petals. It’s a Cabernet Franc that’s as big in personality as the man himself!

The 2018 is his 20th vintage release, and one we’ll be savoring for the next 20 years.
