    A Truly Rarefied Cabernet Experience

A coveted 100-point site high above Auberge du Soleil. A winemaker trained at Dominus by Christian Moueix and Jean-Claude Berrouet. A vineyard adjacent to Sloan Estate’s three-time 100-point, $700 cult wine—but Sloan makes 500 cases, and only five cases of this exist.

Every bottle at the Premiere Napa Valley Auction is a collector’s item reserved for a lucky few connoisseurs, but not all these wines are created equal: Some producers have more material to work with. Hall Vineyards owns over 3,000 acres in Napa and Sonoma, and they crafted this 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Premiere Lot from their absolute top site: Sacrashe Vineyard.

So when Fritz Hatton’s hammer dropped and the Premiere crowd erupted in applause, our CEO, Joe Fisch, pumped his fist because he knew exactly what he had won: an extraordinary cut of the single finest barrel from Hall’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard.

We’re grateful to winemaker Megan Gunderson Parades for selecting this jewel from the thousands of lots she vinifies each year for Hall. Having spent 17 harvests at the winery now, she’s one of the best enologists in the Valley, having cut her teeth at Robert Mondavi, St. Supéry, and, of course, Dominus.

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to taste a PNV wine, you know exactly what we’re talking about: They’re next-level. There’s an exquisite, rarefied flavor and perfume that a winemaker can only achieve by hand-bottling from one barrel. It’s as great as Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon gets—a special occasion in a bottle.
