One of the World's Genius White Wine Producers

Calling him the “new master of affordable white Burgundies,” the Wall Street Journal once compared discovering Pierre-Yves Colin’s Bourgogne Blanc to “finding one of the world’s greatest speeches written on the back of an envelope.”

Today, Pierre-Yves Colin is more aptly described as the master of white Burgundy—an icon whose wines are veritably stalked by sommeliers and enthusiasts alike.

We first met Pierre-Yves at New York’s La Paulée in 2014. All of his wines stood out for their stunning purity, unerring focus, and mineral-driven brilliance and solidified our fandom forever.

The Morey in the name comes from his wife, Caroline Morey, who, like Pierre-Yves, also comes from a distinguished family of Burgundy winegrowers—is as good as it gets.

Like his father, the legendary vintner Marc Colin, Pierre-Yves Colin has been a standard-bearer for Burgundy since founding Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, or PYCM as it’s affectionately known, in 2003. On the heels of a decade spent elevating his father’s Domaine Marc Colin to a second golden age, Pierre-Yves struck out on his own with his wife Caroline, starting with a few family-owned parcels and slowly adding to his holdings.

Today, Pierre-Yves Colin is no longer new but undoubtedly a master. As Wall Street Journal wrote, “It’s not often that a winemaker’s genius can be detected in a bottle of basic Bourgogne.” But here we are, shocked and amazed at “the vinous equivalent of the Gettysburg Address.”
