2019 DeLoach Vineyards Chardonnay O.F.S. Russian River Valley

Wine Spectator called DeLoach “one of California's best producers of Chardonnay,” and the O.F.S.—short for “Our Finest Selection”—is the biodynamic estate's flagship white. Golden and generous, it's all lemon curd, hazelnut, and butterscotch, with the cleansing acidity to keep it honest. Russian River richness, straight from the source.

The Mountain Makes the Wine

From fewer than 2,000 planted acres in the fog-cooled Santa Cruz Mountains, Madson farms organically for exactly this: a light-bodied, laser-focused Pinot Noir built on ancient marine soils. Crunchy wild strawberry and red cherry, brisk mountain acidity, silky tannins. Jeb Dunnuck gave the 2024 vintage 95 points.

The Vineyard Behind the Legends

For decades, the Shifflett family sold their Yountville fruit to Napa royalty—Elyse, Duckhorn, and Thomas Rivers Brown among them. In 2017 they started keeping the best for themselves. Made by Colgin and Wheeler Farms alum Sarah Donley, the 2019 is classic Napa Cabernet: black cherry, cassis, graphite, velvety tannins.
