When one of our most trusted Bordeaux connections brought up the idea of a blue-chip library three pack—and when we saw the wines that were available—we felt like they were reading our mind.

We’ve had the chance to drink the 2000 Léoville Las Cases, 2005 Palmer, and 2010 Figeac—and if we could hand-pick ANY bottles from the spectacular vintages they represent, these bottles would all be at the top of the list.

We tasted the 2000 Leoville Las Cases a few years ago when a friend brought it to a party. It struck us as a wine that would be practically immortal in the cellar. Wine Spectator rated it 100 points, and placed it at #5 on their Top 100, the reviewer calling it “one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time.”

The 98-point 2010 Figeac we had back in 2018. It stood out as the quintessential plush, structured, and stately Right Bank Bordeaux, and in his 2021 review, Neil Martin of Vinous said it’s “just beginning to show what it is capable of.”

As for the 100-point 2005 Palmer, we had it when a friend brought it to dinner, to taste alongside the monumental 2009. For us, it eclipsed the ‘09, and floored us as one of the finest Médoc wines we’d ever tasted. Master of Wine Jane Anson, in her 100-point review, wrote that it’s “impossible to stop smiling after this.”

Three of this century’s greatest Bordeaux vintages, interpreted by three elite chateaux: This set will be a massively valuable addition to any cellar—one that will pay off over the next few decades.
