Small Production, Increasing Demand, and Rarely Available

Pinot Noir is one the most revered grape varieties on the planet, inspiring vintners around the globe. Notoriously fickle in the vineyard and challenging to grow, it has a quiet elegance which in the right hands gives it the singular ability to express an enormous array of aromas and flavors along its ever-delicate structure. More so than other grape varieties, Pinot Noir is a mirror for its terroir, and its naturally high acidity and soft tannins make it versatile on the table with classic dishes and avant-garde cuisine.

This set of Pinot Noirs showcases three hard-to-find, cult-level Pinot Noirs from wineries that have an unwavering commitment to producing world-class wines. Their painstaking efforts in the vineyards to carefully select the best grapes is matched only by their devotion to the highest quality production in the winery. These are wines that everyone should know about, but with such small production and increasing demand, they are rarely available. We’ve made this trio of Pinot Noirs available for 10% off their retail value, while our small allocations last.

2014 Cristom Vineyards Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyards Eola-Amity Hills

The plaudits achieved by Cristom Vineyards could fill a book. Decanter has crowned them “Top Oregon Pinot,” and Cristom wines have made five appearances on the Wine Spectator Top 100 in the last decade, and today we have a rare, single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the storied winery.

Bright ruby color with medium garnet overtones. Complex aromas of dark cherry and wild strawberry, lifted by notes of dried orange peel, wild herb, and anise. Medium to full-bodied, anchored by a core of solid red and black fruits, and showing both a satiny texture delightfully grippy tannins. Finishes with a beautiful lingering floral note. Drink now-2025.

2016 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch Vineyard Sonoma Coast

This breathtaking single-vineyard Anthill Farms Pinot Noir comes from three former Williams Selyem cellar rats whose wines have been lavished with praise by top critics and embraced by Michelin-starred restaurants.

Showing a medium depth of ruby color, with a touch of garnet to the rim. Highly expressive aromas of mulberry, macerated cherries, violets, forest floor, loam, marjoram, fresh wildflowers, and more evolve in the glass as the wine opens. Medium-bodied, the firm tannins have soft edges that gently caress flavors of black cherry, clove, white truffle, and baking spice. Old World in structure, but full of ripe New World charm, this is a Pinot for fans of the subtlety and nuance that are hallmarks of the variety. Drink now - 2028.

2017 Dragonette Cellars Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills

The terms “hand-crafted” and “small-production” seem to be bandied about right and left these days, but it isn’t often that you encounter winery owners personally making the wine and personally doing all the unglamorous cellar work. But Dragonette Cellars is  anything but ordinary: Their 2017 Pinot Noir is a standout bottling that combines grapes from four pristine sites known for their exquisite single-vineyard wines, in a value bottling that could command twice the price.

Pale and bright garnet-ruby in color. Explosive black cherry and raspberry aromas are complemented by notes of coriander, forest floor, wild herbs, fresh violets, and sweet spices. It beautifully illustrates the balance of powerful fruit and elegant, medium-bodied nuance classic to Santa Barbara Pinot. Silken and supple, a bold wild strawberry and cherry fruit core on the palate yields to hints of pipe tobacco, allspice, and coriander that linger on the finish. Drink now - 2022.
