When he first crafted D2 30 years ago, DeLille’s head winemaker, Chris Upchurch, forged the trail for Bordeaux-style blends in Washington state. He’s spent the last quarter-century perfecting his art, even whipping up a blend on the morning of his own wedding, leaving him with wine-stained hands at his nuptials. That combination of relentless dedication and all-star sites makes this wine truly exceptional.

Comprising 56% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the wine offers a delicious trek through the Columbia Valley’s most acclaimed Washington appellations. Upchurch and winemaker Nick Bernstein maximize the grapes’ potential, eliciting further complexity by aging the wine for 20 months in French oak, 47% of it new. It spent another eight months in bottle before release.
