    Mother-Daughter Team’s Provence-Inspired Rosé

For decades now, wine lovers have looked straight to the sea-sprayed coast of Provence for the ultimate in divine, elegant, mouthwatering rosé.

That’s where the mother-daughter team of Melinda Kearney and Michèle Ouellet found inspiration for one of our favorite California rosés.

The gorgeous Lorenza Rosé is a Golden State–born gem that delivers its Provençal inspiration in every sip. It’s the flagship of this woman-owned winery, and it’ll have you dreaming of lazy days under the umbrellas at a Côte d’Azur café. That’s why it’s been featured in publications ranging from The Wall Street Journal to Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

The vineyards that supply Lorenza’s immaculate grapes were tracked down and chosen specifically for their suitability for rosé—a rarity for a California bottling. In the past, Kearney and Ouellet sourced from vineyards in multiple regions, but in the last few years the pair has gotten all their fruit from Lodi, one of California wine’s most history-rich locales. From its ancient vineyards, Lodi delivers some of the most distinctive wines in the New World.

This rosé is built on one of Lodi’s secret weapons: Carignan (38%) from head-trained vines over 50 years old, which yield tiny, concentrated grapes. Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Grenache round out the blend, with the first coming from the Sprague Vineyard in Clements Hills—a perfect spot for producing wines with lively, vibrant flavors.

Kearney and Ouellet press the grapes exceptionally gently then ferment them long and slow in stainless-steel tanks to preserve fresh-fruit flavor and vibrant acidity. The result is a salmon-hued everyday drinker that glows like its Provençal inspiration but delivers a uniquely Californian character.
