2024 Silver Ghost Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750 ml

Weston Eidson is one of the most exciting talents in California.

His work bears the teachings of his mentor, Napa Cab–kingpin Russell Bevan, who has authored a slew of 100-point wines. Richness, density, and silky tannins are hallmarks of both winemakers—and our members have made Weston’s wines some of our most popular over the years.

The 2024 Silver Ghost Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley comes from one of the more compelling recent Napa vintages. Heavy winter rains saturated the soils and set the vines up beautifully, and the lush natural canopy that followed helped buffer summer heat right through to harvest. Winemakers who kept their nerve brought in grapes of impressive depth, rich color, and the kind of concentration that defines a genuinely strong Napa year.

This bottle draws from three spectacular sources in Oakville, Yountville, and the cool Sugarloaf Mountain area—blue-chip Napa Valley vineyards that often provide grapes for triple-digit-priced Cabernets. The certified sustainable farms are managed with an eye toward balance and longevity, and Eidson’s winemaking follows suit: slow, cool fermentations, daily pump-overs, and aging in 50% new French oak to build structure without overwhelming the wine’s natural fruit character.

The name “Silver Ghost” is a reference to the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, the favorite car of John Montagu, Eidson’s great-grandfather. Montagu was a British Lord, a member of Parliament, and an early pioneer in the automobile industry. Montagu even picked the model whose form adorns the “Spirit of Ecstasy,” Rolls-Royce’s iconic hood ornament.

Fortunately, Eidson took cues from the quality of Rolls-Royce, not the price. Napa Cabernet of this level does not come around often for this price, especially from a young winemaker of such excellent pedigree.
