Despite the fact that Bollinger has made appearances in James Bond films for over 40 years, it seems like a deliciously well-kept secret.
When the late Lily Bollinger took over one of the world’s foremost Champagne houses in 1941, she had reservations about rosé Champagne—she was a traditionalist and believed anything less than a crystal-clear, white Champagne wasn’t worthy of the Bollinger label. But were she alive to witness this extraordinary cuvée, one has to believe that she would change her mind about its respectability.
After all, Bollinger’s NV Rosé Champagne is as likely to be found at a five-star hotel in Vegas as a MICHELIN-starred restaurant in France. The world’s foremost critics haven’t been shy either: Wine & Spirits awarded it 94 points, and Wine Spectator, in their 93-point review, said: “A graceful rosé Champagne, giving an overall impression of delicacy and finesse…Hard to stop sipping.” We’ll add exceptional, world-class, a show-stopper.
It’s only fitting that Madame Bollinger would have wanted to protect the integrity and reputation of her family’s brand.
