Nose of cherry, plum, cassis and coffee. Elegant wine. Ripely sweet and spicy on the palate with excellent finish. Still with some tannins but ripe. Very delicious now!
you can still find this outstanding Pauillac for a pretty good price. Highly recommended as it is drinking beautifully right now at 10 years of age.
Great stuff. More St Julien in style than Pauillac. Started off with slightly restrained nose and flavors of roasted nuts, cassis and toast with hints of oak. The acidity was low throughout but moreso after about 20 minutes in the glass. We couldn't wait for this to fully develop because we were 4 people on one bottle and started drinking as soon as the bottle was uncorked. I'll bet if we decanted and waited an hour we would have liked it even better. After about half hour in the glass it really opened up and the nose became much less restrained and the wine became more lush and fruit dominated. Overall a terrific wine but I would wait another year or two to open another.
