Awesome wine for about $40. Will be buying more!
Ever since Parker’s ratings came out, we’ve been buying up 2007s. Little of what we’ve bought is of this quality at under $40.
I only bought four bottles!!! Is there more?
What can I say? This was an excellent wine that lived up to to the hype. I'd buy it again anytime!
Tried a bottle last night and was knocked out! Straight out of the bottle the wine was delicious and smooth - for lack of a better term, the word juicy came to mind. All one would expect in a CdP was there - in spades. I can't wait to try it with other dishes (last night was mushroom risotto) although this wine is absolutely delicious on its own.
Love the wine. It was like silk flowing down the palate.A very good choice
10/6/15 Wow! We opened this for dinner to have with meat balls in a rich brown gravy with noodles. REALLY good! Lots of spice, great fruit with kirsch and cherry; a touch of earth and road tar on the nose. Super smooth and very rich and long. Just beautiful! Sometime in 2012: Had this with grilled venison chops with mushroom demi-glace. Just lovely. big nose of red and purple fruits, forest floor and road tar. Intense palate of ripe, sweet purple and red fruits. Utterly; smooth, long finish. Superb. 95+ points from me. Should be good for another 10 years, but I'll bet mine doesn't last that long! 12/3/17: Enjoyed the next to last bottle (actually half of it and saved the other half in a half bottle). Wonderfully smooth and suave, still with plenty of fruit. Just a bit alcoholic, but it's 15% after all. Very nice stuff. The 2010 is still just a bit better, I think, but this is outstanding. Wow!
This wine was awesome. Very full, silky smooth. Very full taste.. Had to hold back from just drinking it down. Will buy more.
Good medium fruit, very structured with a good mineral content, finish goes on and on. Almost too good to drink with food. I had to search online to find more!!
True to its promise; worthy of drinking.
Better to consume in 2012
Mild with a bit too much sweet fruit.
This was extremely disappointing. Perhaps it was a poor bottle, and I will try another, but this wine was remarkably closed, there was almost no aroma when this was in the glass, even after an hour or so. It was very surprising that this was so dead, compared to the 2007 Domaine St Pierre which was supple, delicious and a wonderful value. I am a big fan of Châteauneuf and Gigondas so this was not what I was hoping for.
