We tasted this along with an '09 DaNa "Lotus Vineyard" and it was a dead heat, some preferred the greater extraction of the DaNa and others (me) preferring the better balance of the ACVV. Both wines were fantastic. By the way, you can buy 5 bottles of the ACVV for each one of the DaNa "Lotus".
Celebrated a Wednesday with this bottle. Smooth, integrated black fruit, tannins sweet and tingling, nose is alluring and finish is long and luxurious.
I equate ACVV to an Eastwood or Redford movie, you dont have to know what its about or solicite a review you just go see it knowing it will not dissapoint. The '09 Estate Reserve is in the same class. No yet reached its potential (if a must now decant for a day) so lay it down for 3-5 years and you will have a delicious rich, dark fruit, cassis driven beauty with perfect balance of tannis.Thank you Todd and Ronnie Anderson for true consistancy year in and year out.
Somehow I frequently find my own impressions of wines at variance with the reviews of the accepted sages at the Robert Parker's online publication. Not this time. This 2009 Anderson's Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve is chock-full of goodies. Fruit, herbs abound. Tannins remain in the background just to carry the bag and out of the way. I would even go as far as to claim this is a notch above the 2008 Eloge from the same enologist.
Always one of my favorites and this vintage did not dissapoint
Nearly perfect as a US benchmark Cab iin being distinct and just ever so short in being explosive
This wine is perfect for my palate and my wallet. A great wine and an incredible value!
