Lovely rich golden in the glass. Excellent nose of apple, pear and bitter honey. Wonderful fruit on the palate and excellent minerality on the LONG finish. Just beautiful! I only have one case of this, and I need to be very patient with it. I think it has a long term story to tell. Don't drink it too cold! 1/16/18: I had two of these left and opened the next to last one. It was very much bitter honey and was softer and nicer as it warmed. Sara was just the opposite and thought it got more harsh as it warmed. Regardless, we'll have the last one soon to see how it is. Even at this age, it was very interesting, but frankly, not as good as the 2011 Corson St. Veran.
This was a top-off....after enjoying this classic....why did I not buy a case. Too late for me. Fabulous.
really good white burgundy, rather sweet with honey, apple, and licorice. Great volatile aromatics, I know this won't sound appealing, but the bouquet is reminiscent of boot blacking polish I used in the army?! I really do mean this as a positive comment. Not as elegant or subtle as the 2008, but still amazingly good.
