I've had this around for nearly two years. My first taste a few weeks after arrival was underwhelming. A nice wine but nothing special. Tried it again about a year ago with much the same result. But last week this wine finally lived up to its billing as a big, sappy, tasty winner from a great winemaker. It's not Grange but is certainly a top level shiraz, in my opinion.
First taste seemed strong and tart. But finished fruity and smooth. I have no comparison experience with Shiraz, but we liked it.
12/13 - Cellared for a year and hope to hold the rest for at least two more! Seductive nose of crushed violets and black olive. Firm, full body with notes of black cherry, pepper, and black olive. Nicely balanced with velvety tannins leading to a smooth finish. The finish is distinguished and unique containing notes of wet stone and minerality. A lovely shiraz with structure to last 5 years or longer in the cellar.
Not a bad wine at all, nothing special about it either.
