About Perrier Jouet
Perrier-Jouet takes the philosophy of the Belle èpoque to heart, aiming to produce champagne with beauty, grace and style. Its house, located on the famed Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, has been headquarters since it was founded in 1811 by Pierre Nicolas Perrier and Rose Adelaide Jouet. From 266 acres in Cramant, Avize, Ay, Dizy and Mailly, Perrier Jouet harvests Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, to produce around 3,000,000 bottles annually. Its trademark are lighter bodied Champagnes that emphasize balance and elegance, with fragrance and very good fruit -- especially white fruit, pineapple and grapefruit. Perrier-Jouet's Grand Brut has consistently been among the best examples of basic non-vintage Champagne for the past decade, but its premier cuvee, Belle Epoque, specifically Belle Epoque de Blancs, is the best Perrier-Jouet has to offer. This flirtatious Champagne is made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Cramant, its bottle designed by artist Emile Gallè.With owner Pernod Ricard now at the helm, we expect Perrier-Jouet will shortly be moving on up the Champagne ladder of quality.
