About Sokol Blosser
Established in 1971, Sokol Blosser is one of the oldest existing wineries in Oregon. It started as little more than a dream, as newlyweds Bill Blosser and Susan Sokol Blosser packed their trunk and headed to the Dundee Hills to take aim at Pinot Noir. Their journey, four decades long, has been a success story, and has now come full circle, as their kids, Alex and Alison now run the estate. In recent years, the addition of Russ Rosner to the team, as winemaker, has made a significant impact in production. When Russ arrived in 1998 he couldn't help but notice the differences between barrels from different blocks of the estate Pinot Noir. He came up with the idea for small lot bottlings that year, which has resulted in the best wines Sokol Blosser has to offer. In addition to the Pinot Noir, however, they also make a complex, spicy, firm Pinot Gris that is adamantly dry but not at the expense of its vibrant fruit.
