Beautiful Game, Beautiful Wine
Malbec and fútbol: Argentina’s on top of the world at both.
The 2022 La Final Malbec celebrates both of those national pastimes. Crafted by one of the most respected wineries in the country and labeled to honor Argentina’s 1986 World Cup win, it’s exactly the kind of bottle built for a celebration.
La Final comes from Mendoza Vineyards, in Agrelo, one of the prime corners of Luján de Cuyo at the foot of the Andes. This is high-altitude Malbec country, where intense mountain sunshine and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings let the fruit ripen slowly while holding onto its natural acidity.
The payoff is a Malbec with real concentration and lift in equal measure—deep, saturated color, generous dark fruit, and a fresh spine that keeps everything in balance. It’s the combination that made Mendoza famous the world over, and La Final delivers it at a price that feels almost unfair.
In the glass, expect a deep violet, nearly inky color, with a nose of blackberry, black plum, and ripe blueberry lifted by violet, cocoa, and a wisp of sweet tobacco. It’s full-bodied and velvety, layering dark fruit over baking spice, dark chocolate, and a touch of espresso, with richness, freshness, and finesse all pulling in the same direction.
However you pour it—over a long lunch, alongside a plate of empanadas, or with the match on and the volume all the way up—this is a wine that turns an evening into a celebration. And the way it drinks for the money, you’ll want more than one bottle on hand.
