World-Class Talent, World-Class Cabernet
Maayan Koschitzky has had a hand in some of Napa Valley's most collectible bottles—Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle among them—and his tremendous skill has made him one of the most sought-after Cabernet craftsmen in the world.
Pas de Cheval is his ambitious Napa Valley project, and for it, he leveraged his connections to tap into some of the region's top vineyards. That includes a revered and extremely coveted site high on Howell Mountain.
The 2022 Pas de Cheval Cabernet Sauvignon Finale was grown on one of the great high-altitude vineyards of Howell Mountain—one that many vintners would kill to work with, but few ever get to. It's a wine of real muscularity and richness, the kind of structured, age-worthy Cabernet this mountain terroir is famous for.
The 2022 growing season was a warm one, capped by a hot finish that pushed ripeness and drove serious power into the fruit. On Howell Mountain, that translates to a bold, deeply concentrated Cabernet whose plush core is framed by the firm mountain tannins built to carry it for decades.
Pas de Cheval can be found on the list at some of the top restaurants in the world, including Napa's MICHELIN three-star The French Laundry, Mélisse in Santa Monica, and NYC's Jean-Georges.
