There's a stretch of northern Napa Valley that helped put California Cabernet on the map. It's home to some of the most storied names in the state—estates whose wines announced the region to the world and still command attention from collectors everywhere. The soils and exposures here lean toward power, producing deep, structured Cabernets with concentration to spare.

This wine comes from a site tucked into that same neighborhood, just south of one of the area's most acclaimed wineries. It's a quieter address than its famous neighbor, but it draws on the same conditions that make the surrounding wines so distinctive: warm days, cool nights, and hillside fruit built for intensity.

What makes this corner of the Valley special is the ground itself—the soils, the exposures, and the cool evening air off the hills that give the Cabernets grown here their depth and structure. The grapes were sourced by a winemaker we've worked with for years—someone with a deep network among Napa growers and a knack for landing exceptional fruit in prime locations. In 2024, that network paid off, and he crafted a Cabernet that captures everything the neighborhood is known for.

Because the source sits behind a non-disclosure agreement, the wine reaches you under our Cosmologist label rather than the vineyard's own name. Bottling wines this way is something we do only when the fruit earns it—when a wine can stand on its own without a famous name on the front. In the glass, it's deep ruby-purple with a nearly opaque core. The nose offers cassis, ripe blackberry, and black cherry, framed by violet, graphite, and fresh bay leaf, with cocoa nib, espresso, and cedar emerging as it opens. The palate is plush and concentrated, layering dark fruit over velvety, fine-grained tannins, with enough acidity to keep everything lifted and precise.

Aged 20 months in 35% new oak, it carries just the right level of polish—generous, structured, and beautifully balanced from the first sip to the last.
