A World of Bubbles, All Together
2018 Champagne Alfred Tritant Millésime Brut
The Tritant family farms just over six acres in Bouzy and Ambonnay, Grand Cru villages that Krug and Bollinger tap for power. Their Millésime is made only in top years, and Decanter called 2018 “truly exceptional.” Expect toasty brioche, ripe peach, and a luxurious mousse.
NV Maurice Grumier Ô ma Vallée Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Champagne
A Master of Wine friend tipped us off to Grumier, a Marne Valley grower making Champagne since 1924, and this Blanc de Noirs floored us from the first sip. Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir deliver baked red apple, white raspberry, and exotic spice. We were the first to import it to the US.
Le Marchesine Franciacorta Nitens Brut
We found Le Marchesine through our friends at A16, the James Beard Award–winning San Francisco restaurant. The Biatta family has built this estate since 1985, and Nitens—Latin for “shining”—earns its name after 24 months on the lees: green apple, lemon peel, and zippy energy.
NV Champagne M. Brugnon Rosé Selection Brut
Four generations of the Brugnon family have crafted Champagne in the Premier Cru village of Écueil since 1947, and it’s become our #1-selling Champagne by a mile. This Rosé shows why: freshly picked strawberry, crisp pear, and lemon zest, with a chalky cut and plenty of verve.
2021 Marqués de la Concordia MM Reserva de la Familia Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Cava Reserva
Marqués de la Concordia has made Cava in San Sadurní d’Anoia, the heart of Penedès, since 1882. This Reserva spent 40 months on the lees, more than double the requirement, and it’s resolutely dry and elegant, with golden apple, white flowers, and citrus pith.
NV Corazza Prosecco Extra Dry Treviso
Only one Prosecco has ever made us text Italy mid-lunch. A Malibu server recommended Corazza, and we realized it came from our longtime importer friend Alex Corazza, who’d kept his own label restaurant-only. We asked for every bottle he could spare. Expect gorgeous ripeness and vibrant acidity.
